listening to Box of Rain into Foolish Heart from Hartford 1990. Phils's best right into what might be Jerry's last great song.
" a box of rain will ease the pain and love will see you through..."

Don't you cry, dry your eyes on the wind. La, la, la, la.

The older I get, the sadder this is. My family truly misses your art. How can it be 11 years? Life moves too fast. Jerry helped all of us slow down and smell the skulls and roses.

It is true, even more so as I have watched other lives end way too soon - short time to be here; long time to be gone.

You mourn for a short time, you miss forever...

Hey Garcia! - It's AshesRising here. Things are still pretty much the same as when you departed, only worse. We're all still stuck in Paradise Lost and now it's hotter than Dante's Inferno. Hunter turned 65 in June and finished a novel a few months earlier - it's called "Doppelganger" and at least the publisher liked it. Yeah, they're still selling "Steal Your Face" coasters and "Dark Star" ringtones and now there's a rhino in the mixing studio. Yeah, you're right, it's mostly all illusion anyways but it's all we got so we're trying to make the best of it.... some more than others but that's the way it's always been. Hey, if anybody says "see ya" today, take my advice and disappear quickly...some things have gone down the toilet since you left but I'm glad you get to roll around Heaven all day. --- AshesRising

8-1-82 Oklahoma City Zoo.... Playin > AIko, a sweet jam!!

Another great jam I listen to every 8-1 is the Uncle John's > Truckin > Dew from 7-31-82, the post drums was actually after midnight, so it was the first jam on Jerry's Birthday that year.

Candyman - driving home tonight, I was thinking, that will sound good forever.
AshesRising is right, maybe things have taken a step or two back over the past 11 years, but I was glad for the time we had.
